Morris Dean Pfeiffer, age 78, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013, in Mesa. He was born March 1, 1935 in Pierre, South Dakota, the first born son of Morris W. and Louise Howe Pfeiffer. He was raised in farming and ranching country, which seemed to suit him. Always a horseman, artist, and artisan, in mid-life he began crafting custom saddles for individuals, rodeos and special events. That seemed to be his calling. Morris is survived by a son, Don Garrity of Hayes, S.D.; four daughters, Lisa Jo Pfeiffer of Pierre, S.D., Holly Rillings of Pierre, S.D., Kelly Fennell of Ft. Pierre, S.D., and Jill Pfeiffer of Ft. Pierre, S.D.; three brothers, Carl Pfeiffer of Mesa, AZ, Larry Pfeiffer of Chandler, TX, and Jerry Pfeiffer of Beaverton, OR; and a sister, Mary Brownson of Mesa, AZ. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care, Mesa, Arizona.
