Michelle Lynn Nunn, age 59, passed away peacefully 4 October 2020 after a courageous two-year long battle with Cancer. She was born on 22 November 1960 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Gaylord and Dawn Pigman who later moved to California. She grew up happily in Chico California and later attended the California Polytechnic University in Pomona California where she met her future husband Mark Nunn in the summer of 1985. They were married in Chico in October 1986 and just celebrated 34 wonderful years of marriage before her passing.
Michelle was an amazing person who touched the lives of everyone she knew, and was always the first person to offer a smile and a greeting to both friends and strangers whenever she could. She was a strong and faithful believer in Jesus Christ and lived her entire life with an unwavering faith and grace that transcended this world. She believed that everyone has value no matter their place in life, that we all should love one another unconditionally, and that we should all do the right thing—always! She was simply a living example of Christ in all that she did in this life.
She was an amazing Air Force wife, loved Christmas and Silent Night, had a childlike wonder for everything Disney, adored her pet dogs, raised three amazing sons, and lovingly provided a home for extended family and friends across eight moves that took them Coast-to-Coast, to Europe, and finally to Hawaii. She lived her life to the fullest, loved passionately, and had no regrets as she faced her final journey to her heavenly home.
Michelle is survived by her husband Mark, their three sons and families James Cody Nunn, Brock Andrew Nunn (wife Kelsey and their expected son Rowan James Nunn), and Reece Michael Nunn. Additionally, her parents Gaylord and Dawn Pigman, her younger brother and sister Scott, and Jill Pigman, as well as her mother-in-law Norma Jean Nunn, sister-in-law Sandra Gail Nunn, and her beloved and faithful dog Bailey. All of whom she loved unconditionally and with a passion for family that will timelessly bind them together forever.
A celebration of her life is in planning and will be announced at a future date for all friends and family to attend. In lieu of flowers or other considerations, Michelle asked that friends and family kindly donate to either the American Cancer Society (see link below), Wounded Warrior Project (see link below), or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) (see link below) to honor her memory.
Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
