She was born on November 27, 1920, 1 of 2 children to Emmett and Edith (Ralston) Knapp in Newton, Kansas. She was raised in El Dorado, Kansas, where she graduated high school. She met John Krider in 1952, and in 1953 they married. In 1953, they moved to Wichita for a couple years, then made the move west to California, living in El Monte, Hacienda Heights, Sun City, and moved to Mesa in 2001. An office manager for an engineering firm and then a bank, she worked until she was 72. She enjoyed fishing and hunting in her younger years, playing cards, bowling, traveling (where she enjoyed several cruises), and reading. She was also a member of the Apache Wells Community Church.
Mary is survived by her son, Robert “Bob” Denny and his wife Mary; son John Krider; daughter Patricia Allstead and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 4, from 4pm until 6pm at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 5, at 9:30 am at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park. Interment will take place in California.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
