Mary C. Grijalva of Mesa, passed away on January 28, 2011. She was an Arizona Native born on November 2, 1916. She resided in the valley all 94 years of her life. Louis, her husband of 42 years, preceded her in death. Together they raised six children in the Phoenix area. She was the epitome of a godly woman who was faithful to Christ, our Blessed Mother and prayer. Her life’s work was being the quintessential, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. As the matriarch of the family, she was strong, nurturing and loving leaving her family with many lasting memories and a beautiful legacy. She is survived by her children Louis (Lily), Mary Helen, Margie Paquette, Irene Cabrera (Eddie), Carmen Gaiser, Lydia Sanchez (Carlos); 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; many endeared extended family and friends. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., we invite you to join the family in praying the Rosary at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S. Dobson Rd., Mesa. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 3, at 10 a.m., St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1730 W. Guadalupe Rd., Mesa. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, 2033 North 48th Street, Phoenix.
