It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Davis on March 12, 2025, at the age of 68. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Sue; his children Jon Davis (wife Thea), Paul Davis (wife Elizabeth), and Sarah Ritterbush (husband Ben); his mother Betty Davis; his brother Tim Davis; his sister Molly Jacobs; and his six grandchildren Raedyn, Lucian, Trinity, Rustin, Emberly, and Jubilee.
Mark had a true passion for music, especially gospel songs, and his powerful singing voice touched everyone who heard it. He loved singing in church, where his heartfelt worship inspired those around him. Whether leading a song or simply enjoying the music, Mark’s voice carried his love for God, bringing joy and comfort to his church, family, and friends alike.
Mark also had a great love for coaching basketball, where he embraced a hard-knocks style of teaching. He believed in pushing his players to their limits, instilling in them the values of perseverance, discipline, and teamwork. While his coaching style was tough, it was always rooted in deep care and respect for each player. Mark saw potential in every young athlete he mentored, pushing them to be their best not only on the court but in life.
For 45 years, Mark worked at Costco, where his kindness, patience, and respect for others made him a beloved figure among colleagues and members. He always went above and beyond, making everyone feel valued, and his dedication was felt by all who knew him.
Mark also devoted much of his time to the Prison Fellowship, where he found great purpose in helping others and sharing the Gospel. His unwavering faith and compassionate heart led him to serve those in need, showing God’s love through his actions.
Above all, Mark’s greatest message was simple yet profound: to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and to love Him with all your heart. This was the foundation of his life and the guiding principle he shared with everyone around him.
Mark will be deeply missed, but his love, faith, and legacy will continue to live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him. This is how his family wants him to be remembered, but Mark would want everyone to know that the most important thing in life is your relationship with Christ and the importance of reaching as many people as possible with this message.
Salvation Plan:
Mark's life was centered around his personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and he would want nothing more than for others to experience the peace, joy, and hope that come from knowing Him. If you are searching for a relationship with Jesus, here’s how you can begin:
1. Acknowledge that you are a sinner – All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
2. Believe in Jesus Christ – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).
3. Confess your faith – If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved (Romans 10:9-10).
4. Receive Jesus as your Savior – Open your heart and invite Jesus to come into your life. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me (Revelation 3:20).
If you would like to know more or pray to accept Christ, please reach out to your local church or pastor. Mark would be thrilled to know that his legacy continues in your life through Jesus Christ.
