Margaret Ellen Tanner Ricks 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2021. Margaret was born November 20, 1928 to Golden J and Marian Tanner. She was the oldest of two children and grew up in Richfield, Utah. She graduated from Richfield High School and later attended BYU where she met her lifelong sweetheart Ariel Ricks. They were married March 30 1951 in the Manti Temple in Manti, Utah. She was an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After farming in Idaho for several years she and Ariel moved their four children to Mesa, Arizona in 1964. Margaret loved the warm sun in Arizona and enjoyed swimming, water aerobics, hiking, gardening, picnics and traveling and spending time with friends and family. She and Ariel served missions in Guatemala, St. George, Utah and Washington DC. She was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and Sister. She finished her life’s mission with grace, faith and love. She was preceded in death by her husband Ariel in 2015 and survived by: children Allan (Wendy) Ricks, Janet (Tim) Alder, Brent (Kari) Ricks, Marianne (Bob) LeSueuer and brother J Golden Tanner. Margaret has 7 grandsons, 7 granddaughters, 20 great-grandsons and 13 great-granddaughters.
A Graveside service will be held for family and friends at 10:30am Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Mesa Cemetery located at 1212 N. Center St., Mesa, Arizona. Condolences can be made to the family online at www.melchermission.com.
