She was born on May 14, 1944 in E. Providence, Rhode Island. She was raised and educated in Rehoboth, Massachusetts and resided in Attleboro, Massachusetts where she worked at L.G. Balfour Company, The Sun Chronicle newspaper, Leach & Garner/General Findings division, and Univis Eyeglasses until 1988. She moved to Mesa, Arizona and worked at Mesa General hospital, Anderson Reclamation, Horizon Stucco, Kovach Roofing, Construction Secretaries,and Creative Networks. She then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2003 where she worked for Duke's Landscaping, Clean Air Endustries, and Fair Price Construction.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard M. Horton Sr. and Enid L. (Chase) Horton of Rehoboth, Massachusetts and her husband, Thomas J. Bowman She leaves behind four sons – Gregory Berube of Las Vegas, Nevada; Richard Berube and his wife, Corri Berube of Attleboro, Massachusetts; Paul Berube of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Douglas Berube of Florida; as well as four grandchildren.
She had a love for animals which started early in life while living in Rehoboth around farm animals. She also loved spending time with her cats and dogs. She rescued several greyhounds over the years while in Mesa, Arizona through the Arizona Adopt a Greyhound organization. Along with greyhounds she adopted multiple cats, either strays off the streets, or from the no-kill shelters. She also enjoyed visiting the local casinos in Las Vegas especially her favorite Texas Station. She wouldn't spend or win much. She enjoyed being around her extended family. It was her way to "escape" the real world.
