Lois is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Howard Amos Martin and survived by her children: William Howard Martin, Virginia Grace Petry (Charles), Michael Madison Martin, Kathryn Jane Pomeroy (Benjamin II), Kathleen Lois Cruz (Anthony). She was blessed with 9 Grandchildren James Russell Petry (Kristy), Jared Michael Petry (Samantha), Benjamin Kent Pomeroy III (Crystal), Melissa Pomeroy Maness (Stephen), Angelica Marie Kidney, Jessica Lynn Mansker (Brian), Victoria Grace McWilliam (Brian), Julia Elizabeth Pomeroy, Christopher Martin Pomeroy and 15 Great Grandchildren Krystal Raven Evans, Edwin Theodore Maness, Solomon Bradley Maness, Aliyah Lynn Mansker, Noah Keith Mansker, Olivia Ann Kidney, Isaac Barrett Butler, Harmony Hope Krizma Guzman Petry, Kasondra Lexi Petry, Coby King Keirden Petry, Nicolas Atreyu Petry, Aleczander Charles Petry, Edom Xavier Petry, Dyana Nicoll, Monson Pierce Petry.
Lois was a native Phoenician, born December 15th, 1932, in Phoenix, Arizona to Frank Monroe Falconer and Ruby Lois Wallin. In her youth, she went by the nickname “Jerry”. She attended Madison No. 1 Grade School, North Phoenix High School and Phoenix College graduating with an Associates Degree. Lois married Howard Martin, who also attended North High School, although they did not meet each other until college. They were joined in marriage in 1955 and parted in 2014, when her sweetheart passed into eternity.
Lois was active in the Cub Scouts, serving as a Den Mother. She had a talent for crafting; included sewing, knitting, and crocheting, often creating colorful Afghans. She was also a talented artist and poetess. In school, she won contests for her dress designs. She was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and often volunteered for the Relief Society.
A visitation for Lois will be held on March 2, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; Hampton Ward Building, located at 1007 South 72nd Street, Mesa, Arizona. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. following the visitation. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lois’s life. Condolences can be sent to her Facebook page.
