Linda L. Johnson, 65, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. She was born October 28, 1948 in Willmar, Minnesota, to Margaret Fisher and William C. Fenton, Sr. With her parents and three siblings, Linda moved to Glendale, Arizona as a young teenager where she attended and graduated Cortez High School. Linda later earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Arizona State University and served as a nurse for more than 30 years before retiring at the age of 62.
While an accomplished nurse, Linda's greatest achievements in life were being married to Stephen Johnson for 26 years, who passed in 2008, and raising two daughters, Misty, 43, and Stephanie, 29. Misty preceded Linda in death on April 30, 2014. She is survived by her daughter Stephanie, her brother William, 72, and sister-in-law Gert, her brother Corky, 67, and sister-in-law Linda, and grandson, Shea, 22, among a beautiful extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Linda was a terrific mother and friend, an outstanding cook and reader of many books. Her sparkling personality and sense of humor will be greatly missed. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 17 at 11 a.m. at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 South Dobson Road in Mesa, Arizona.
