

Leonard Steven Reifschneider born January 1, 1945, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2023 surrounded by his family. Lenny was born to Harry and Anna Reifschneider and was raised in New York City with his 5 siblings. He proudly served his country with the US Army in Vietnam. Lenny returned home where he met and married his wife Judi on February 13, 1971. They moved to Rio Rancho New Mexico in 1973 where they built their life together. Their daughter Michelle was born in Albuquerque in May of 1980.
Lenny worked at Mountain Bell for many years as it transitioned into US West and retired in 1997. His hobbies included poker night with the guys, watching all the old Western movies, playing cards with his best friends Vinnie and Rosemary and spending time with his family. He was a man of few words unless he was sharing his jokes.
He loved being a husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, son, brother and friend. His grandsons Christopher born in 2004 and Carter born in 2009 stole his heart. He enjoyed his later years living in AZ where he spent his time watching his grandchildren play countless hours of baseball.
Lenny is survived by his wife of 52 years Judi, his daughter Michelle Strange, son in law Shawn Strange, grandson Christopher Leonard (19), grandson Carter Andrew (14), sister JoAnn Miyares (Urban), brother Tommy (Linda), many nieces and nephews, and friends who became family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Anna Reifschneider, brothers Johnny Reifschneider and Harry Reifschneider II, sister Renee Thomas and grandson Zachary Lee.
Services will be held Saturday January 27, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Mariposa Gardens in Mesa AZ.
