Lee i know its been a year since you went to Jesus' presence but i still miss you so much. it still feels as though you will be walking throught the hall. you will always be in my heart and in my prayers. if you see my doggie Meeshi or my kitty abby give them a big hug for me and tell them i still miss them as i miss you too. love you always!

Butchie, my best childhood friend and cousin.  You were Butchie when you lived with our family all those summers long ago, and you are still my Butchie.  I remember all the fun we had as kids and I especially loved recalling them as we met often in Arizona these past years.  Rafting on Here’s Howe’s Haven, throwing rocks at the beehive (you, not me!) visiting Uncle Willie, staying at your house in Detroit where milk was UNLIMITED!  I loved you then, I love you now, dear cousin.  Paul and I will miss the dinners we shared with you and Karen so often.   Rest well my friend; we will all be together again some day.

Mrs. Lee Olden and family. I am deeply saddened by the loss of a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. In my heart I will always remember how Lee took me under his wing and pretty much taught me everything I know and pushed me to get to where I am today. Lee was and always be my friend. God took him into his house. He does'nt feel pain anymore and he's standing tall with everyone else now. We talked alot and joked around and he always listened to what i had to say. I will miss him very much. I know i will see him again, he's my friend!

I am at a loss for words.  I can not express how much Lee meant to me and CGRMC.  He was the first person I met when I began working at CGRMC 13 years ago.  I can't believe it was that long ago.  Lee was such a special man.  He was giving, caring, and nurturing. He spoke of his family often and took great pride in showing us his family pictures. He will be missed more than words can say.  He was part of our family and I thank you for allowing us to be part of yours.

To Aunt Karen and family. I'm not going say what a horrible loss, you are living through that right now. Uncle Butch...later Uncle Lee, was a presence in my life from the earliest memories I have.  I was there when you were g. Sitting with you on a date to the drive-in, a 3 year old little girl learned how a man treated a lady, and what it meant to be gracious and to have a twinkle in your eye.  That twinkle of his....anytime I think of him, the first thought is his the twinkle in his eyes ... just like the one in his photo here.  He showed a remarkable strength with his laughter and smile.  When my father wasn't around, Uncle Lee and I had some wonderful, private talks.  His advice was always just right and what I needed to hear.  He was a great family historian with his ever-present cameras. He caught the life of our families in his camera.  I never really noticed until he didn't bring he gone one day.  

He graced our families with love and laughter, his twinkle, his easy manner, even with strangers.  He brought a view of hope and was truly on of my life's teachers.  I cry as I write this, I never imagined life without him in it.

I want to give you my deepest sympathy on your loss, Lee was a genuine person, i loved working with him he was always so pleasant with me even when the day may not be going well. i will not forget him he will be missed by many co-workers that had the pleasure to work with him.

I was not sure how I would react if the worst were to happen. The last two weeks with my Father in Law suffering were very difficult. I now realize they were harder than I was letting on. I wanted to be strong for Kristin who was by his side nearly the whole time. When I would explain to friends and co-workers what was going on, I would often say that I did not know what or how to feel. My Father and I had not been able to spend much time together during the twenty plus years Kristin and I have been together. With my In-Laws living in Arizona and Kristin and I in Michigan, I thought that I did not have the attachment to my Father in Law that a child normally feels for his parents. I was raised an only child and my Mother and I were very close and together until she passed 11 years ago. I was completely wrong. I very much miss the only Father I have ever known much more more than I ever thought I would. I can only recall good times and memories that now leave me yearning for more time with him. My normal line of thinking would have me focused on regrets after his sudden passing. Instead, I would like to take this opportunity to honor him by trying to be more like him. He was a much better man than I am and the ultimate role model to follow. He never had a bad word or thought toward anyone. He was so kind-hearted and considerate. He never even rolled his eyes at anyone. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the words and I am priviledged to have had the time I was given with him. Instead of feeling sorry for myself and angry with the fact that I never worked as hard as I should have at building our relationship, I vow to follow his example of being a loving husband, a hard working mentor, and always striving to be the best he could be. He is truly one of the best human beings I have ever known and I miss him dearly. I love you, Father....

Lee was a very special brother-in-law. He touched our family in so many ways over so many years. Our grown children have wonderful memories of their Uncle Lee. From camping to fishing to just hanging out. Don and I will always remember his soft voice and his ability to stay in the middle. We often joked with him about that. we are shocked and hurt that he will no longer be in our lives but he will always remain in our hearts. We are warmed by the fact that the last few years his heart was consumed with love for his beloved grandaughter Sofia. He literally beamed when speaking of her. AT TIMES THEY EVEN THOUGHT WE DID NOT LIKE EACH OTHER.  WE WERE CONSTANTLY JOKING IN FRONT OF OUR CO-WORKERS.  WHEN WE WERE ALONE IT WAS  FRIENDLY TALK.   I SHALL MISS LEE GREATLY.  AS YOU ALL KNOW HE WAS A TREMENDOUS MAN.  MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYS ARE WITH YOU ALL.
