Larry R. Armstrong, 83, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at his home in Mesa, Arizona. He was born March 29, l938 in Jennings County Indiana to Ruth and Albert Armstrong. Attended High school in Marion, Indiana and graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Industrial Management. He worked in accounting/finance for General Motors in Marion, Indiana, Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo Michigan. He retired after 32 years while serving in Kalamazoo as the administrator of GM regional accounting center serving 4 General Motor plants.
After retiring, he moved to Mesa Arizona and was an avid supporter of the Arizona Museum of Natural History serving as current volunteer Treasurer on the museum’s Foundation board. He also volunteered at the Mesa Arts Center, the Mesa Historical Society and the LPGA golf tournament.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Karen, two sons Bob (wife Pam) of Mesa and Steve of Lake Orion, Michigan, and 7 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Julia, Adam, Sarah, Rachel and Allison. One brother, James Armstrong (Marilyn), and three sisters, Ann Kilgore, Jean Hornberger (Dave) and Rebecca Lines (Mark). He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Joan Purvis, nephew Davey Hornberger, brother-in-laws Bill Kilgore and Jack Purvis.
