Larry was born on April 6, 1951 in Gueydan, Louisiana to Querie and Mary (Cormier) Richard. He was the second of 7 children. Larry loved his Cajun heritage, speaking Cajun French with family and visiting his family as often as he could. Larry loved to cook and was known for his gumbo! Wonderful warm conversations always flowed around recipes, the newest cooking gadgets and grilling. He loved to share jokes, especially Cajun jokes. His laugh was infectious!
Beautiful Mountain Scenery was always something Larry gravitated to as well as his passion for hunting. You didn’t like food, cooking, mountains, and hunting? Well let’s talk about cars, trucks, and engines… Larry loved to talk about buying and selling classic cars. He would light up when the topic would switch to anything that revolved around four wheels and an engine.
Larry was a patriot who loved his country! But more than anything he loved his family! He always let his wife and his daughters know just how much he loved them. He prayed hard for his girls. He was strong in his faith and he never let go of hope.
“There are in the end three things that last: Faith, Hope, and Love, and the greatest of these is Love.”
1 Corinthians 13:13
