Mesa, Arizona – Josephine Lopez, 98, of Mesa, AZ passed away peacefully on June 15, 2021 surrounded by her family.
She was born in Ottowa, Kansas to Ramone and Paula Trevizo on September 23, 1922. She was one of eight children and is preceded in death by six siblings.
Josephine married Joseph Lopez in Maricopa, AZ, on May 20, 1940, and together they had six children: Joe Jr., Richard (Jackie), Mary (Ray), Frankie (Gloria), Robert (Susan), and Lisa. She is survived by 22 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Josephine was devoted to her children. She loved spending her quality time in her kitchen cooking and serving her family. Her favorite recipes included nopales with chili, tamales and she always had a pot of beans on the stove.
