Joe was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Roger DuVan, and a grandson, Scott Richard DuVan.
Joe is survived by Betty DuVan, his loving, devoted wife of 69 years; by his children Donald DuVan and wife Nancy of Auburn Hills, Michigan, Gary DuVan and wife Gayle of Lascassas, Tennessee, George DuVan of Carson, California, Dennis DuVan and wife Carol of Mesa, Arizona, and by his daughter-in-law Kaye DuVan of Rim Rock, Arizona. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Joe served the United States Navy during World War II as a Plank Member on board the USS Sicily.
Joe was a Master Mason of 52 years, and served Berkley Lodge in Berkley, Michigan as Master in 1968.
During his lifetime Joe enjoyed many different careers: Gas station owner, used car salesman, master auto mechanic, real estate broker, and all around handyman, gladly helping anyone who needed his talents and shared those talents by teaching what he knew to many others.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Fountain of the Sun Activity Center, located at 8001 East Broadway, Mesa, Arizona.
