John graduated from Hanover Township High School in 1959. He received his undergrad degree and played college football at Western Maryland College.
John served in the Coast Guard in Cape May, NJ from 1950-1963.
John received a Doctorate of Medicine from the State University of New York in 1972. Dr. Markovich was a head and neck surgeon practicing Otorhinolaryngology in Utica, NY, for several years, prior to retirement.
John had a passion for fishing, cooking, skiing, college football, and baseball. He especially loved watching his grandsons play baseball.
John had a great, dry sense of humor. He might say his only regrets are going before “Sleepy Joe” and not living long enough to see the next Republican president.
John is survived by John Markovich Jr., Cheryl (Markovich) Armbruster, her husband Charles Armbruster, grandsons Ian Armbruster and Gavin Armbruster and several nieces and nephews.
