John was born in Greensboro, NC. He has two older sisters. A step sister May Ola Williams and sister Carolyn Bowden-Pruitt. When he was 7 years old he moved to New York was raised in the Bronx's. Where Ernestine McGregor met his step-father Charles Lambert. He went into the Army in 1962. Where he joined the 101st Airborne division. Where he achieved medals for being an expert shooter with rifle and being a demolition expert.
He will be remembered for his patented invention The Body Shower, and wonderful acts of community service. His passion for basketball lead him to coach for several years at the Georgia boys and girls clubs.
He Is survived by his spouse Zaida Bowden and children, Yvonne, John Jr, Jennifer and Betsy Bowden, and a host of grand children. John had a predeceased step daughter named Lisa.
The viewing will be held on January 18th at the Mariposa Gardens at 400 S Power Road, Mesa AZ 85206. The Funeral service will start at 11 A.M. and immediately followed by interment at 12 P.M.
