JoAnn Rowland, was born in Tulsa, Ok, and moved to Arizona at the age of 9. She met Charlie Rowland in Arizona, they were married 52 years. JoAnn was dedicated to her family and enjoyed being around family and friends as much as possible. She was genuine to everyone she came in contact with and offered her friendship to anyone that accepted. Charlie was and will always be her best friend and lifelong companion. They shared approximately 54 years of life together, making memories, and building a family. They shared 4 beautiful children, David, Larry, Dewayne and Misty. In JoAnn’s final hours she offered her farewell to Charlie saying, “It has been one heck of a ride, and she would do it all over again.”
JoAnn’s, appetite for life was admirable. Never a complaint and always offering her unique teaching’s to all her loved ones. She enjoyed the simplest things in life, including her family and many friends, and when her time was not consumed by these people she would be cooking, reading, walking, riding her bike, gardening, listening to music, fishing, humming a tune, or simply engaging in conversation. These simple things she shared in life is why she considered herself the richest person in the world.
JoAnn, is survived by Husband Charlie, sons David and Larry (Mary Beth), Daughter Misty (Jason), Daughter-In-Law Cindy, Grandsons David (Sheena), Charles, Justin, Dylan, Tylar, Justin and Thome, Granddaughters Amber (Josh), Brandy, Savanna and Aubrey, Great Grandkids Cole, Mason, Shealee, Lilly and Brice, Sister Geri and Brother Leon. She is preceded by son Dewayne, mother Irene, father Lloyd, sister Joyce and brothers J.C. and Charles.
A viewing is scheduled for Friday November 8th from 10am -12 at Mariposa Gardens located at 6747 E. Broadway, Mesa, AZ. Funeral services will take place at noon followed by a graveside burial at 2pm. A celebration of life reception (for everyone) will be held at Charlie Rowland’s home (directions will be provided at the service). Arrangements have been entrusted to Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park & Funeral Care, Mesa.
