Beverly “JoAnn” (Creighton) Keffler passed away on October 27, 2017 in Chandler, Arizona. Born in Racine, Wisconsin to Ivan and Nell (nee Butler) Creighton, JoAnn arrived on November 23, 1926. Her beloved husband John “Jack” Keffler, grandson Joshua John Keffler, brother Douglas Creighton and sister Janet Kay Gradijan preceded JoAnn in death. She is survived by her dear son Douglas J. Keffler (Mary Ann) of Mesa, Arizona; grandchildren D. Jason Keffler and Jeffrey R. Keffler both of Chandler, Arizona; and great-granddaughter, Kimber J. Keffler, and many nieces and nephews. JoAnn graduated from Marquette University in 1949. She married the love of her life, Jack on August 5, 1950 at Marquette University Chapel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. JoAnn was a teacher and speech pathologist with the Canton City Schools, who dedicated her professional career to special needs children in Canton, Ohio, where she lived with her husband until their retirement to Fountain Hills, Arizona in 1987. Throughout her life she loved the arts, opera, the symphony, to read, play cards and doing puzzles. She was busy in retirement in Fountain Hills with volunteering at the library, an active member of the DAR and for many years would work at the polling station on election days. The family wishes to acknowledge her many Fountain Hills friends and the support of her nieces during the last years of her life. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Ascension in Fountain Hills, Arizona at 10am on Saturday, November 4th. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in JoAnn’s memory to the Disabled American Veterans at dav.org. Arrangements are entrusted to Mariposa Gardens, Mesa AZ. Beverly JoAnn Keffler will be laid to rest with her husband, Jack, in the V A National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona.
