Jason is survived by his son, William Hunter Pope, daughter Cheryl Pope, stepdaughters Sheinté, Sorin, and Shealyn, sister Billie Hiatt, dad David Pope, mother Cheryl Thurman, stepdad, Albert Thurman, nieces Kaylynn, Emily, and Meg, nephew Storm Wortham, auntie Kathy Knuckey, cousins Jeremiah and Donna Knuckey and Sara Knuckey, second cousins Jason, Mikayla, Sheri, Seth, and Shamii, great nieces Mia Greene and Ani Cole, great nephews Kai Cole and Eli, and his brother from a different mother Johnny Rose. He has joined his uncle Ricky, Nana, and great grandpa William Pope in heaven.
Jason's son, Hunter, says his dad was the most selfless person in the universe, a best friend to everyone, but an even greater father. He loved camping and spending time with his family. He was always there to help, no matter what.
"I always felt that I could go to him for anything, tell him anything, or ask him anything. Everyone who met him loved him, and he would give whatever he could to help anyone, family, or not. He was my best friend and the best thing to happen in my life and to every life he touched."
He will be missed.
