Jack Leroy Ennis, 84 of Mesa, AZ passed away September 21, 2019 in his home. He was born December 26, 1935 to Charles and Ruth Ennis, both deceased, in Martinsville, IN. He is survived by his children, daughter, Shelly Long of Alpharetta, GA and husband Micky Long; son, Alan Messmer of Martinsville, IN and wife Melissa Messmer; son, Jack L. Ennis and partner Cindy Adami and daughter, Stacy Pedersen and husband Jim Pedersen both of Gilbert, AZ.; sister, Janette (Ennis) Hodge and husband Ron Hodge of Henrico, VA. Preceding him in death are two brothers, Jerry Ennis and James Ennis both of Martinsville, IN. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Jack graduated Martinsville High School in 1953 with a basketball scholarship; he then went on to Indiana University, Bloomington Campus where he earned a degree in accounting. He worked for several companies as an internal auditor and even worked closely with the FBI investigating fraudulent crimes. He retired from Hughes Aircraft as Chief Auditor.
After retiring Jack was a member of the Superstition Mining Club and often taught classes there. He was a self taught piano and guitar player and had a passion for the bible, reading books and genealogy. He loved the outdoors, skiing, hiking in the Superstition Mountains, panning for gold; camping, fly-fishing and he especially loved playing golf. A memorial service will take place in Martinsville, IN.
