

Herbert Herman Wott, 73, of Bridgman, MI, passed away March 27, 2014. He was born in Chicago, IL on September 1, 1940. Herbert graduated from Lindblom High School in 1957 and shortly after enlisted into the United States Air Force serving eight years of honorable service from 1958 to 1966. Herbert was also a member of the American Legion Post 0331 in Bridgman, MI.
Herbert was married to Gloria Wott on January 5, 1962 and they enjoyed 52 beautiful years of marriage.
Herbert was preceded in death by his parents Herman Wott, Lena Wott and his grandson Sebastian Wott. He is survived by his three children, Brian Wott, Stephen Wott and Darren Wott (Jennifer), his two grandchildren, Darren Wott Jr. and Gabrielle Wott and his brother, Robert Wott (Maureen); niece Carolyn and Caitlyn Wott, and nephew Robbie Wott.
Herbert worked for the Railroad for over thirty-five years. He coached boys’ football and baseball for a number of years. His mission was to always help others in need. He assisted in creating the columbarium for veterans from early 2000’s to near completion in 2013. He had a passion for playing golf, playing cards and watching sports, especially his favorite Chicago teams, DaBears, White Sox, Bulls, Blackhawks and Notre Dame Football. He loved life, he loved his family, and he loved his friends. Many people who had the opportunity to be a part of his life will miss him dearly.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 11:00am, May 31, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Ministries and to follow, a military gravesite ceremony at Graceland Cemetery.
