He graduated from Muncie Central High School. He joined the Army in 1961 and was stationed in Korea for 3 years. He returned to Muncie and worked for Westinghouse until 1984. He managed Lee's Video Store in the 80's and 90's. He moved to Arizona in 1998, where he worked at the airport in customer service.
He is survived by his first wife Marguerite (Leach) Mader; children Beth (Mark) Daulton, Annie Atkinson, and John Mader; his grandchildren Tyler Daulton, Jacob (Lauren) Daulton, Jonathan (Kimberly) Atkinson, Andrew Atkinson; his great grandchildren Emilia, Oliver, and Madilyn Atkinson, Hadley and Elliot Daulton; sister Rosalie (Phil) Petro; numerous nieces and nephews; and stepdaughter Cheryl.
He is preceded in death by his parents Minnie Lou and Herschel Mader; his second wife Ruth Anne Mader; his brothers Wayne and Glen Mader.
No services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Harold's memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
Harold will be laid to rest in Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park, 6747 E Broadway Rd, Mesa, Arizona 85206.
