It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gilbert Sanchez Tellez. Gilbert was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Jose Cruz Tellez and Olivia Sanchez Tellez. Gilbert was known for his unwavering dedication to his family, community, and country. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend and proud veteran.
Gilbert bravely served in the United States Army, where he demonstrated courage and honor during his tenure. His service to our nation was a testament to his steadfast commitment to protecting the freedoms we hold dear.
For his sacrifice and dedication, we will be forever grateful.
After his military service, Gilbert continued to serve in various roles, including mentor, friend, and his job as an automotive repair technician. He was not only a man of duty but also one of love, known for his kindness, generosity, and dedication to his loved ones. Gilbert touched the lives of many with his wisdom and humility. Nothing brought Gilbert greater joy than spending time with his children, and especially his grandchildren. He had many hobbies throughout his life; building model trains, and airplanes, and riding his Harley Davidson. He included his children and grandchildren in his hobbies every opportunity he got. He spent the last years of his life training his best friend Legend, who was by his side wherever he went. Gilbert loved the Lord and shared his great faith and hope with those around him.
