Gary Allan Fuchs, 61, of Mesa, AZ, passed away June 12, 2020. He was born on December 12, 1958 in Phoenix, AZ to Jacob and Rose [Lochansky] Fuchs. At a very young age, he was the bat boy for the ASU baseball team and went to the College World Series with the team.
He attended Tempe High School and graduated with the class of 1976. Following high school, he went on to attend ASU, where he majored in sports and wanted to become a physical education teacher. Gary eventually went to work in the hospitality industry and ultimately became General Manager, working with various hotels in the Phoenix metro area. In the Early 1980’s, Gary met the love of his life, Debra Tischler, the two were later married and spent the next 38 years together.
Gary enjoyed playing tennis, racquetball and bowling; he just loved sports his entire life, especially the ASU teams and also loved America; his favorite song was, “Proud to be an American”. What brought Gary the most joy in life was spending time with his family; he would do anything for them.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Marie Fuchs; children, Jennifer (Nick) Masse and Robert (Melissa) Tischler; grandchildren, Jaeden, Zoe, Blake and Ryker; his father, Jacob Fuchs; his sister, Tara (Alan) Roesler as well as his nephew, Alexander and niece, Kimberly.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 from 9:00am – 10:00am with a funeral service at 10:00am at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ. Arrangements entrusted to Mariposa Gardens Funeral Care (480)830-4422
