Frances Loretta Woodruff passed away on June 8, 2015 at Good Sheppard Skilled Nursing Facility. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy Woodruff, of 63 years, her parents, Laura and Charles Plato and her brother, Jack Plato. Frances was born February 3, 1925 in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from North High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. In 1943 she was employed by the Army Counter Intelligence Corp. during World War II. Frances is survived by her sister, Mary C. Harden of Mesa, Arizona, her favorite niece, Jackie Starkey, of Westerville, Ohio and great niece Kelly Brunton (Joe and Family) of Columbus, Ohio. Fran retired from The Smith Brothers Hardware Co. before Jimmy and she moved to Mesa, Arizona. Fran belonged to the Ladies Section of the 4-S Club and the Columbus Mannerchor, Dreamland Villa Singles Club and All Saints Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at Melcher Mission Chapel, 6625 E. Main St. Mesa, Arizona on Sunday, June 14, 2015 from 2PM - 5PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, 1534 North Recker Road, Mesa, Arizona 85205 at 10AM. Burial will be later at Union Cemetery at 3349 Olentangy River Road Columbus, Ohio. The family would also like to express their gratitude to Good Sheppard Skilled Nursing Facility and Banner Hospice for all they have done for Frances.
