Elizabeth Harris, 95, of Mesa, AZ passed away June 28, 2017. She was born September 25, 1921 in Washington, DC to Charles and Gertrude Callis. Elizabeth was devoted to the Baha’i Faith, and enjoyed spending time in prayer and deepening in to her faith. She was a hard worker, earned a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Washington State University. She made the Dean’s list. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Gertrude; her husband, Douglas T. Harris and her siblings, Theodore and Geraldine Callis. She is survived by her five children, Kristin Wilson, Mary Lou Alejandro, William Louis Harris, Douglas Harris and Dadene Street; grandchildren, Rainn Wilson, Shammy Alejandro, Crystal Brook Harris, Will Tucker Harris, Mercedes Harris, Deesch Harris, Erika Street and Jamal Street. Friday, July 7, 2017 at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park a short graveside service will be held at 9:00 A.M. Because of the Mesa summer heat, the brief outdoor service will be followed by a more informal service in the hospitality room of the Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park, 6747 E. Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ.
