It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donna "Vickie" Victoria Nies of Tempe, Arizona, who left this world on October 19, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on November 6, 1946, Vickie was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother whose love and kindness touched the lives of everyone she met.
Vickie is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Larry Nies, and their three children: Debbie (Donnie) Craft, Becky (Chuck) Ross, and Ryan (Valerie) Nies. She found immense joy in her role as a grandmother and leaves behind eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Vickie is also survived by her four sisters.
Known for her generous spirit, Vickie was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends, neighbors, and family members in need. She loved to garden, finding therapeutic joy in pulling weeds and nurturing her plants. An avid reader, she delighted in immersing herself in a good thriller or mystery. Her delicious homemade pies, crafted with fruit and love, were second to none. Vickie enjoyed traveling, with Italy and Germany among her favorite destinations. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Vickie’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering support will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love will continue to thrive in the hearts of her family and friends.
A celebration of Vickie's life will be held at Lakeshore Mortuary, located at 1815 S. Dobson Road in Mesa, on November 8, 2024, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Vickie's favorite charity, the Arizona Humane Society, in her honor.
