Dennis attended Monroe High School. He served in the Army after graduation. Dennis was employed at North Star Steel in Monroe. He later moved to L’Anse, MI where he married Kathy Collins and joined her in the restaurant industry. His next adventure was moving to Arizona where they opened the Red Mountain Café in Mesa. Dennis “Theo” and Kathy owned the restaurant for twenty- two years until selling it in October 2023. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in the UP. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed riding his Harley.
Dennis is survived by his wife Kathleen Thompson; his children, Amy (Randy) Krupp, Michael Thompson, Jason (Kerry) Thompson, Shannon Fish, Crystal Anderson, and Donald (Christina) Sweeney; 13 grandchildren and 7 siblings, David (Jane) Thompson, Donna Thompson, Debra (John) LaBo, Edye McCarty, Saul (Bo) Thompson, Glenn Thompson, and Darla (Nick) Davis. He was preceded in death by his first wife Karen Sue Thompson and his grandson, Christopher Turpeinen.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dennis’ memorial service at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S. Dobson Road, Mesa, AZ 85202 on Thursday, March 21, 2024, staring at 1:00 pm and going until 5:00 PM.
