David Allen Beck

David Allen Beck was born in Des Moines, Iowa on June 29, 1961 to Harold and Patricia Beck, and passed away on June 8, 2017 after a brief illness. David knew he wanted a career in law enforcement and joined the Urbandale branch of the Police Explorers while in high school. After graduating from Urbandale High School in 1979, he became a reserve officer with the Urbandale Police department and worked in retail security. He progressed in his career; eventually becoming an Investigator responsible for a territory of several states. David moved to Arizona in the early 1990’s and managed his father’s printing business. In 2002 he opened his own print shop. An opportunity to reenter the law enforcement field opened in 2006, and he joined the staff of the Arizona Department of Public Safety. David will be remembered for many things: his love of family, cars, (especially Mustangs), good coffee, and all dogs (he had several, but was partial to Dobermans).He is survived by his wife Marlene (Tremmel), son Gregory, daughter Samantha, and granddaughter Hannah, father Harold, brothers, Scott (Jackie) and Robert (Mary), sister Cindy (Doug Miers), two nieces and a nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pat and granddaughter, Rosalie. Services will be held Tuesday, June 13 2017, 6-8 pm at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel 6747 E. Broadway Road, Mesa, Arizona 85206.
