FISK, CHARKES R. (CHARLIE) passed away on May 16, 2017. He was born in Topeka, Kansas on September 25, 1930 to Jessie and Leonard Fisk. Charlie went to Elementary, Jr. High, and High School in Topeka, graduating in 1948. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1952, where he became a lifelong, avid supporter of KU athletics. Following college, he spent a two year tour of duty as a Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. Charlie spent his early years in Topeka in the insurance business. He was involved in numerous civic activities including serving as a board member of the Topeka Chapter of the American Cancer Society and serving as a charter member of the Topeka Men's Active 20-30 Club. His love of the desert brought Charlie and his wife, Cynthia, to the Valley in 1987. He Built a career here as a business broker working for VR Business Brokers and JanCo West Business Brokers until his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Cynthia, bother Jim Fisk (Sally), daughters Nancy Lawrence and Becky Palumbo (Brian), son John (Nancy), stepson Jed Schroeder (Diana), granddaughters Sarah Tomas (Justin), Katherine Shipley (Joe), Katie Lawrence, Elizabeth Adams (Christian), grandsons Charlie and Billy Fisk, step-grandsons J.D. and Garrett Schroeder, and five greatgrandchildren. A private family service was held at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park on June 2, 2017. A gathering to celebrate Charlie's life was also held on that day.
