Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away peacefully on October 7, 2022 at home in Mesa, Arizona. Charlie was 92 years old and is survived by his wife, his five children, and his sister. Charlie has fourteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Charlie loved his large family and was very proud of all of them.
Charlie was born to Dale and Alice Arnold on November 29, 1929 in Plymouth, Michigan. Charlie grew up during the Great Depression and World War II and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1948. After graduation, Charlie worked in the automotive industry and served in the Naval Reserves during the Korean War. In 1951 Charlie married his sweetheart Marilyn and they were married for 71 years.
A man of extraordinary talents, Charlie could do just about anything and he was determined to do just that. He was fearless and would take on any project no matter how difficult. Throughout his life, Charlie had many skilled careers in construction, the automotive industry and real estate. He had a particular passion for cars and real estate. He excelled as a car salesman and as a real estate agent. Over the years Charlie built houses, apartment buildings, and a nursery business. He loved restoring old cars and he turned “junkers” into beautiful classic masterpieces. You could always ask Dad how to do something and he would know exactly how to do it no matter what it was.
Charlie enjoyed socializing and made many friends throughout his life. He professed his faith as a Christian and made many friends in his church. He was active in many charitable clubs. In his ceramics club, he made finely painted ceramics and gifted many of these art pieces to his family and friends. And boy could he cook! Charlie loved to make pies that he would pass out to his family, friends, and neighbors. You were never hungry around Charlie.
The Arnold family’s only request is that you remember our amazing Charlie with the love he shared with all of us. He loved you all.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.AdvantageMelcherRoses.com for the ARNOLD family.
