Betty J. Morton, 92, entered into eternal rest on May 22, 2023, in Gilbert, AZ. She was born November 22, 1930, in Redlands, CA, to Eleanor and Guy Campbell, and graduated from Fullerton Union High School in 1948. She was married for 51 years to James I. Morton, with whom she traveled the world.
Betty worked at the University of California, Riverside for more than 20-years, starting as a cashier and working her way up to managing the office responsible for the collection of student loans. Her dedication and hard work were a reflection of her deep sense of responsibility and commitment.
A humble and devout woman, her faith, which she cherished, was a cornerstone of her life. She found solace and comfort in the teachings of Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Riverside, CA for more than 50 years.
Betty was a woman of great humility, kindness, and compassion. She was a loving wife and mother, a wonderful friend, and a treasure to all who knew her. She loved spending time by the ocean and enjoyed genealogy, volunteering at Kaiser Permanente Hospital Riverside, traveling, and creating and sending greeting cards.
Betty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Ron and Toni Morton, her daughter Janis McElroy, her daughter and son-in-law Teri and Larry Hull, and her stepson and daughter-in-law Jim and Diane Huber, as well as eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie, her parents Eleanor Campbell and Guy & Arol Campbell, her siblings Dorothy, Carol, Barbara, and Bill, and her stepson Dan.
A memorial service to celebrate her life and legacy will be held in Riverside, CA. On Friday, July 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. and will be located at Acheson and Graham, Garden of Prayer Mortuary

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or OCEANA (non-profit ocean conservation group), as a testament to her love for all of God's creation.
