Barbara was born in Windsor Ontario, Canada, on November 27, 1935. She graduated high school (Canada 13 years), teacher's school (1 year), and taught first and second grade for five years. She married her high school sweetheart Alan Hewson whom she met by chance waiting in line for the pencil sharpener. They married August 13,1955 and he was the great love of her life. They immigrated to the United States where they began their family in the Detroit, Michigan area. Barbara was a loving mother to Tom and Ken, and was a receptionist for Alan's interior design business for many years. She began her own home accessories retail businesses in the same location and others, then she and Alan opened "The Pair Tree" in Naples, Florida. Once Alan passed away in Florida, Barbara moved to Arizona and enjoyed more interior design retail success working at "The Enchantment Resort" in Sedona, Arizona.
Barbara was loving, caring, strong and independent. She loved fine art and design and all things with Peanuts characters especially Snoopy. She loved music, especially Neil Diamond, Gordon Lightfoot and Simon and Garfunkel. She enjoyed reading and working on her crossword puzzles and hiking in the Sedona area.
She will be sadly missed by her two children, Thomas B. Hewson (Kimberly) and Kenneth W. Hewson, her childhood friends and mentors, Milan and Ann Pisko, (Laura, Jane, David, and her goddaughter Sara), her nieces, Margo, Sheila, Laurie, Elayne and Stacey, and her nephew John Baldwin. As well as Rozan P. Mueller, Bill and Ellen Rankin and many other dear friends. Barbara is predeceased by her beloved husband Alan Hewson, her parents Arthur and Mary Baldwin and her brothers, Bill Baldwin, Bob Baldwin and Jack (Jiggs).
