November 12, 2023. Angelo was born on December 2, 1941 in Scranton, PA to Anthony and
Angeline Vergnetti. He was married to the love of his life Kay (Welker) Vergnetti for 56 years
until she passed away in June 2022 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He touched all who
knew him, led a life of deep faith, had an incredible sense of humor and was truly one of the
“great ones.”
He grew up in Scranton and is a graduate of the University of Scranton. At a young age, he was
an accomplished saxophone player, which propelled him into his lifetime passion for jazz music.
Shortly after marrying Kay, he moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he and Kay raised their
family until 1987, when they relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona.
Angelo was not only an incredible man who touched every person who knew him, but his
professional journey was marked by visionary leadership and innovation in the field of
Information Management. Holding executive positions at American Express, Wells Fargo and
MC2, he left an indelible mark on every organization fortunate enough to benefit from his
expertise and leadership.
Angelo’s influence extended far beyond his professional achievements. He was a person of true
selflessness and generosity, was active in the Optimist Club, attended music events, poker
games, enjoyed traveling and was the life of the party at any social event he would attend. He
had a love/hate relationship with golf, was a devout member and volunteer at St Patrick
Catholic Church, loved dogs, good red wine, and an occasional margarita.
Angelo is survived by his brother Leo Vergnetti, Scranton, Pennsylvania and his Sister Phyliss
Rempe, Scranton, Pennsylvania; his son Tony and wife Beth, Bethesda, Maryland; son Fred and
wife Valerie, Scottsdale, Arizona; daughter-in-law Nita, Alhambra, California; daughter Annie,
Portland, Oregon; grandchildren Courtney Schawl and husband Harry Schawl, Mia, Dylan and
wife Krystianne, Kagen and wife KayLynn, Olivia, Nate, Ally, Alexis; great-grandchildren Charley,
Liam and Remington. Angelo was preceded in death by his parents Angeline and Anthony

In honoring Angelo’s remarkable life and contributions, we celebrate not only his professional
accomplishments but also the kindness, wisdom, and inspiration he shared with all who had the
privilege of knowing him. His memory will continue to shine brightly, forever etched in the
hearts of those whose lives he enriched. In lieu of flowers you may donate to the Alzheimer’s
