Allen is predeceased by his wife Janet Silverman (Jan.1937- Feb. 2012) and his daughter Kimberley Haven Keri (Dec.1969- Apr. 2010)
He is survived by his brothers and sisters in law Elizabeth and Roy Royle of Laurence Harbor, NJ and Helen Scouras of Putman, NY; his daughters Dawn Ahlgren (Ron) of Knoxville, TN and Stacey Nichols (Terry) of Tempe, AZ; his grandchildren Eric Roger Ahlgren of Knoxville, TN, Kristen Parlman (Jeff Plotyker) of Selkirk, NY, Niki and Justin Hudson of Knoxville, TN, Lindsay Parlman of Ghent, NY, David Parlman of Chatham, NY, Brandon and Caity Nichols of Tempe, AZ; his great grandchildren Ryker Withrow of Ghent, NY and Everest Plotyker of Selkirk, NY.
Allen is also survived by his lifelong friends Jerry and Barbara Feuer and their extended family.
Allen served his country as a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps, U.S. Army, and U.S. Air Force during World War II (Sept. 1942- Dec. 1949) He continued to serve his country as a member of the local Grazier Union of Perth Amboy, NJ.
Allen held many different titles throughout his life; Loving husband, a great Dad, Uncle Al, wonderful Grandfather, and finally Papa. He was a hero without a cape!
After he retired, Allen and Janet bought a motor home and traveled all over the United States. They made it to 49 states, Canada, and Mexico. They never made it to Alaska thanks to his girls and life happening.
Allen enjoyed his family, but also loved to go to the casino for a good round of poker. He also enjoyed playing billiards with his many friends at the local bar, and at the Senior Center on Via Linda and Granite Reef in Scottsdale. He was well loved by everyone and will be missed every day.
Allen’s committal service with full military honors will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ at a later date to be determined.
