Alice Katherine Vaccaro

Alice Katherine Vaccaro passed away April 15, 2012 in Mesa, Arizona. Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Leno and Benta (nee Pires) Pereira, Alice arrived on August 23, 1920. Alice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She exemplified the role of homemaker. She married the love of her life, Joseph James Vaccaro, on January 8, 1944 at the Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle, New York. They spent many wonderful years together. Alice was active in many aspects. She belonged to the Blessed Mothers Sodality at Holy Name of Jesus Church in New Rochelle. Another group Alice gave her time to included the Catholic Daughters of America, Court #9. Alice was also proud of her membership with the American Legion Ladies Auxillary Post 437 of Larchmont, New York. She has spent the last 4 years in Arizona. Alice is survived by her son Joseph (Rosalie) Vaccaro of Mesa, Arizona, grandson Ronald Vaccaro of Florida, granddaughter Stephanie (Jack) Ross of Arizona, great grandchildren Matthew Ross and Nicole Vaccaro, and her sister Ida Porretti of Ansonia, Connecticut. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Vaccaro, her parents Leno and Benta Pereira, and sister Esther Mancebo.
