William “Tyler” Spake, 24, of Merritt Island, Florida, died Saturday, March 12, 2016 in North Merritt Island. Born in Key West, Florida, on January 24, 1992, he was the son of William “Ron” Spake and Tara Smith Spake. He was a 2010 graduate of Merritt Island High School and an Electronics Technician Petty Officer 3rd class in the US Coast Guard Reserves. Tyler was all boy. He enjoyed the outdoors with a passion and could always be found hunting, fishing, boating, or going to the beach. He had the most infectious smile and giving spirit. He loved having adventures with his many friends, hanging out at Molly’s, and spending quality time with his family. He was very patriotic and was dedicated to serving his country. Tyler is survived by: Father William “Ron” and stepmother Therese “Terri” Spake of Frederick, Maryland; Mother Tara Smith Spake and stepfather Gary Nichols of Merritt Island, Florida; Sister Veronica Spake; Maternal grandparents Carl and Lee Smith; Paternal grandparents William Jerry Spake and Mary Lou Spake; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, stepfamily, and close friends. He will live on in the many lives he touched.
