She was born April 4, 1926, Easter Day in Martins Ferry, Ohio to Joseph J. and Mary E. (Ritter) Phillips.
She was a traditional housewife marrying at age 20 after meeting the love of her life at the William Penn Hotel Pittsburgh, Pa where she worked as a coat check girl and she met and received autographs from many famous stars of the day.
She was raised in Pittsburgh and graduated Saint Andrews Catholic High School after her father relocated for a career at US Steel Power Piping Division.
She brought her family to Brevard County in 1974, to enjoy paradise and Patrick Air Force Base where her husband had become acquainted during his 23 year career in the US Army.
She was part of the greatest generation of the modern era that built and defended this great country
She was a strong woman who passionately defended her children, family friends and values.
Age and health caught up with her succumbing to pulmonary adema, septis, bacterial infections and pneumonia.
She passed peacefully and is now in the hands of God and our savior Jesus Christ

Shirley is survived by her beloved sons Albert, Richard and his wife Laurel; brother Joseph; grandson Phillip; and three great grandchildren.
Shirley's graveside service to be held Tuesday October 4, 2016, at 4:30 pm, at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge, FL.
