Patricia O’Regan Rios, 85 years old, went to heaven on August 7, 2018. The daughter of Irish Immigrants James O’Regan and Beatrice Brick she was born February 3, 1933 in New York City, New York. In 1957 along with her husband Amado (Mario) Hermida, she moved to Hollywood, Florida where she resided until February 2018 when she moved to Cocoa, Florida.
She was an Administrative Assistant in the Business Department for Arby’s Corporate Headquarters. In 2003, she received her Business Administration Degree from Lynn University, where she received Academic Honors by the Faculty and Administration. She was inducted into the membership of Alpha Sigma Lambda. She was a very active member of Nativity Catholic Church in Hollywood where she was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. She was a volunteer at Hollywood Memorial Regional Hospital. She also volunteered at Walker Elementary in Broward County. She enjoyed traveling all over the world.
She loved riding her bicycle, and walking along the beach in Hollywood. On December 13, 2008, she competed in the United Way 5k series and won “1st place” in the Female 75 years old and over category.
She is survived by her two brothers; James (Joan) O’Regan, Massapequa, New York, and Raymond (Paula) O’Regan, Bellmore, New York. Her six children; Debra (Dennis) Connaughton, Cocoa, Florida, Kevin (Lori) Hermida, Kissimmee, Florida, Nancy Lilly, Hollywood, Florida Raymond (Sonya) Hermida, Melbourne, Florida, Robert (Norma) Hermida, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Kristin Hermida Roberts, Cocoa, Florida. Her fourteen Grandchildren; Sean (Jessi) Connaughton, Vancouver, British Columbia, Kelly (Dave) Mansour, Maitland, Florida, Megan (James) Reichley, Rockledge, Florida, Julie (Robbie) Harvell, Millbrook, Alabama, Kari Hermida, Jacksonville, Florida, Danny Hermida, Kissimmee, Florida, Jennifer Lilly, Hollywood, Florida, Melissa Lilly, Hollywood, Florida, Stephanie Holt, Hollywood, Florida, Connor Hermida, Gainesville, Florida, Corey Hermida, Melbourne, Florida, Colton Hermida, Melbourne, Florida, Michael Roberts, Cocoa, Florida and Kyle Roberts, Kingston, Tennessee. Her eight Great-Grandchildren; Braedy Connaughton and Johnny Connaughton, Vancouver British Columbia; Grayson Reichley, Cole Reichley and Carter Reichley, Rockledge, Florida; Coby Mansour, Maitland, Florida, Emmy and Easton Harvell, Millbrook, Alabama.
Patricia O’Regan Rios’s life will be celebrated August 18, 2018 with a Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Rockledge, Florida at 10:00 am.
