We are sad to announce that Patricia A. Daignault left this world July 22, 2023. She passed away peacefully at the age of 83 after a long battle with dementia. She was a loving wife and a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her. She also had many friends and was a well-loved member of the Merritt Island community. She was predeceased by her parents Patrick and Irene Trudeau and her son Thomas Daignault. She is survived by husband John Daignault, sons Greg Daignault (Gena Daignault) and Jeff Daignault (Denise Theders), daughters Christine Daignault-Taylor (Barry Taylor) and Michelle Daignault-Ives, grandchildren Colette Mocerino (Richard Mocerino), Cory Daignault (Amber Goodson), Bobby Ives, Heather Ives and Amber Ives, and great-grandchildren Sophia and Richard Jr. Mocerino.
Pat grew up in St. Albans VT, making many life-long friends. She and her growing family settled in Merritt Island in 1966, where she and John founded Daignault Realty in 1971. She blossomed as a property manager while raising 5 kids with a wide variety of interests. She was especially proud of co-founding the Brevard County chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD) in 1983. In the family, and in the family business, Pat was the joy and the glue, making every gathering, event and holiday extra special with her generosity and joie de vivre.
Pat was lovingly known as “Mrs. D.” by her childrens’ friends, many of whom thought of her as a second mother. She cherished being an involved parent and loved being a grand-, and eventually a great-grand-mother. An avid animal lover, she also enjoyed being a Doggie Grandma.
We especially thank the lovely team of women who lovingly cared for Pat during the last few years of her life: Amy, Sharon, Tammie , Brianna, Tabitha, and more who brought her laughter, hugs, beauty treatments and medical care, keeping her safe, happy and comfortable. Our Hospice team of Elizabeth, Christy, and Barbara are also greatly appreciated.
A funeral mass and celebration of her life will be held at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Merritt Island, FL on August 18, 2023 at 11 a.m. We invite everyone to wear bright colors… especially her favorite red!
