Myra English Buffkin

Our beloved sister, sister in law, and aunt passed away at Hospice House on Friday, January 20, 2017 wit family watching over her. She has shed the wheel chair and brief illness and is walking the streets f heaven surrounded by God, her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, husband of 42 years, Donald Buffkin, Daddy, Jesse Lawson English, Mama Kelsie Crews English, brothers, George English and Jesse English, as well as some other extended family members. She is survived by her sister, Dr. Betty Ahmed, brother in law, Dr. Mohammed Ahmed, sister in law, Merle English, nieces, Deborah Bouton (David), Kelsie English (John), Michele Sligh, and Emily English (Jim), nephews Jesse English (Julie), George English and Johnny English as well as grand nieces and nephews. Being independent until the end Myra did things her way, while being confined to a wheel chair, living alone after Don’s death until the last few months. She can truly say with Paul, “I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith”. 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV).

Myra graduated from Cocoa High in 1956. Myra started her career with Pan American Airlines and ended a career of 25 years as an Administrative Assistant to various Directors of Education at First Baptist Church Merritt Island, where she was a member for 65 yrs.

Services will be held at Wylie Baxley Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, viewing at 12:00 noon and services following at 1:00 PM.
