Celebrating the life of Melvin Howard Weisberg, "Mickey," December 25, 1932 - December 1, 2015. Mickey departed this life for his eternal rest Tuesday at Wuesthoff Hospice House in Rockledge, FL. Mickey Weisberg was born in Philadelphia, PA to loving parents Abraham and Ella Weisberg. Mickey attended Temple University, went on to Podiatry school and surgical fellowship. Mickey was one of the first in the nation to pioneer vein treatments. He had a thriving practice in Merritt Island, FL, with a sign in the lobby that read, "No patient will ever be denied treatment due to financial circumstances."
Mickey served in the United States Army during the Korean War as Master Drill Sergeant and in the Reserve. He trained boys not only how to be soldiers but how to be men. To the best of his knowledge, he was proud to say that all of his men came home. Mickey was most proud of his son Adam Jon Weisberg with his wife Cheryl, and his daughter Elizabeth Allyson Weisberg Diaz. He was a loving grandfather to his four grandchildren: Jensen and Addison Diaz, Jared and Carly Weisberg. He was preceded in death by George Weisberg, Rita and Marty Marder, Georgia Truitt Weisberg, and Jeanne Schwartz.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday December 6th, 2015, at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home Chapel. Viewings at 11:00 am and services begin at 1:00pm.
