John Ronald “Ronnie” Hattaway passed away at Rockledge Regional Medical Center at the age of 76 on the 23rd day of March, 2022. Ronnie is survived by his son, Charles (Chuck) Hattaway. He is also survived by his brother Jim (wife Peggy) Hattaway; his sisters Rita Cain (with Don Everett), Wanda (husband Tom) Welborn, Donna Wojac; Sister-in-law Carolyn Hattaway; and Cousin Dan (wife Cindy) Hilburn; as well as a multitude of cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Ann, his parents J.B. Hattaway and Eva Moody Tedrick, and his brother Michael Hattaway.
Ronnie was born in Pensacola, Florida in 1945.
He attended Cocoa High School until he joined the US Navy.
He served aboard USS Forrestal, deployed to support the ships effort in the
South China Sea. Completing his term of enlistment, he returned to
Cocoa, FL. He was employed at Merritt Square Mall as an HVAC
Technician. He then was employed by EG&G as a HVAC Technician
at the Vehicle Assembly Building and Launch Control Center until
he retired. Ronnie was an avid fisherman, a member of Bass Masters, and could often be found fishing on the St. Johns River.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at Wylie Baxley Funeral Home on
Merritt Island at 10:30 AM the 9th day of April 2022.
