Christopher F. Kurek, 61, of Merritt Island, FL passed away Friday, January 29, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mr. Kurek moved to Merritt Island in 2004 from Alexandria, VA. He attended West Point, a United States Military Academy Preparatory School, graduating with a Master’s Degree in National Security Affairs before serving 26 years in the United States Army and retiring as a Colonel. He was proud to serve his country, and continued to work for the U.S. Government after his military retirement.
Mr. Kurek was a member of the Bach Festival Society in Winter Park. He enjoyed singing, listening to jazz music, going to the gym, and staying active within his church. He was of the catholic faith. He loved his family and was a loving father and grandfather.
Christopher was met in Heaven by his parents, Frank and Stella Kurek.
He is survived by his daughter, Erika; granddaughter, Aubrey; and two brothers: Vincent and Charles.
He will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
