Caroline Downes Kent

Caroline will be lovingly remembered by her son Travis, life-partner Terry, daughter-in-law Maxine, and brother Dan.

She joins her beloved father Bart, mother Roberta, and sister Lisa.

Caroline was born in Hagerstown, MD and moved to Merritt Island in the 1960s when Bart joined NASA to work on the Mercury and Apollo missions. Caroline was a Chemistry teacher for Brevard Public Schools for over 30 years, where she was beloved by students and faculty. Caroline enjoyed horseback riding, scuba diving, surfing, snow skiing, and many more activities.

A visitation gathering will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Wylie-Baxley (1360 N Courtenay Parkway, Merritt Island, FL 32953), with a celebration of life service to begin at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a local food bank or Humane Society such as the Edna Jackson Food Pantry or the Brevard Humane Society.
