Bertha M. Minkoff, 85, of Merritt Island passed away peacefully on January 7, 2015 after a battle with cancer.

Bertha was born in New York on December 1, 1929. She visited Florida after high school for a vacation and vowed that one day she would return forever. She moved to Merritt Island after the death of her husband, Jack, in 1975. She was very active playing tennis, going to the HealthPlex, becoming a black-belt in karate, and working in her pride and job - her garden. She also looked forward to her weekly poker games with her friends.

Bertha is survived by her son John (Theresa) Minkoff; daughter Alice (Mark) Bayless; grandchildren JJ, Jesse, and Madeline Minkoff; Aaron Pace, Jimmy, Jonathan, and Jaki Bayless, and her sister-in-law Irma Menig.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2015, from 12:00 noon at Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Merritt Island with the funeral following at 1:00 p.m. A reception will be held after the funeral in the Meeting House at Divine Mercy.
