Barbara J. Larson

Barbara J. Larson, age 72, passed away Wednesday October 25, 2023 at Health First hospice at Cape Canaveral hospital Cocoa Beach, Florida. She was born on July 28, 1951 in Glens Falls, NY. The 8th of 10 children born to Milford and Ruth Farr. Barbara was a graduate of Saratoga High School and Warren County LPN Nursing program. She ran a group home for mentally and physically challenged adults for several years and for almost 40 years was a hospice nurse working for multiple nursing agencies in upstate Ny, Summerville and Charleston South Carolina, and Brevard County FL, to include Health First, when she passed away.

Barbara was a favorite of most of her patients and was cited many times for ability to bring cheer and peace to their families.

One of Barbaras passions in life was traveling and especially cruising. She and her husband of 24 years and companion for 33 took over 45 cruises together including to the Baltic states and St. Petersburg Russia, the Mediterranean, Hawaii, Tahiti, Australia and of course the Carribbean. She also did many cruises before she and Bob became a couple.

She is survived by her husband Bob of Port St. John FL, son Christopher Carpenter (Misty) of Hartsville SC, step daughter Laura (Eric Debadts) of Warsaw, NY, step daughter Kerri Larson of Cornith, NY , and stepson Robby Larson of Troy, NY. She is also survived by siblings Patty, Laura, Milford, Michael, Ronnie and Dudley.

A celebration of life will be held on December 9th, 2023 at Wylie-Baxley funeral home in Merritt Island, FL at 11 A.M. The theme of the celebration will be cruising, tropical and Caribbean. A second celebration will be held in the vicinity of Saratoga, NY at a date to be determined in the late spring of 2024. In lieu of flowers donations made be made to the American Cancer society with a emphasis on ovarian and lung cancer.
