Barbara Kay Johnson passed away peacefully at the age of 56 on October 26, 2015 following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born in Washington, Pa. where she graduated from Trinity High School. Eventually, Barbara went onto obtaining her Masters in School Counseling. She spent 10 years in the Army Reserves as a Captain and she worked 29 years for Brevard Public Schools as a Teacher and Guidance Counselor. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing softball, shopping, and attending church. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Evelyn O’Brien and her brother David O’Brien. She is survived by her husband, James Johnson, her children, Brendan and Jayla Johnson, sisters Karen O’Brien, Kathleen O’Brien, Marjorie O’Brien and Brother Richard O’Brien, two nieces and three nephews. A memorial service will take place at the MI Church November 7th, 2015 at 2:00. The church is located at 1750 N Courtney Pkwy Merritt Island, Fl. 32953. Arrangements are under the direction of Wylie Baxley Funeral Home Merritt Island, FL.
