Sara Elizabeth Smith McGee

Funeral services for Sara Elizabeth Smith McGee will be held Saturday at 11 am in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home. Bro. Bob Followell will be officiating. Burial will be in Herbert Cemetery in Neshoba County.

Mrs. McGee, 83, of Hickory, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 30th at Anderson Regional Medical Center while surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was a wonderful cook who will also be remembered as an avid animal lover.

She is survived by her daughters Charlotte Hagan (Roger), Sandra Everett (Billy Joe), Paula Strebeck (Randy), sons Wayne Smith (Tara) and David Smith (Melissa). Mrs. McGee is also survived by six grandsons, seven granddaughters, nine great grandsons, four great granddaughters and one great great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Mamie Smith, husband James “Jimmy” McGee, son Michael Collins and great grandson Garrison Hagan.

Pallbearers will be Tim Hagan, Matt Hagan, Bryant Everett, Jacob Strebeck, Daniel Locklear and Austin Spears.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 5pm to 8 pm at Stephens Funeral Home.
